[Hikaru's been very, very quiet lately. Holed up alone in his apartment, working on designs and sewing new clothes with his lovely friend -- a sewing machine.

But it's nearly that time again, so... he's gotten a little restless.]

Could everyone keep an eye out for Hitachiin Kaoru for me? I know he's coming. ["He wouldn't make me spend Christmas alone."] I'm just worried, you know? That he'll end up somewhere remote. So, just keep a lookout, okay?

Anyway.

Someone told me that you guys have a pretty major Christmas party here, so I'm totally taking commissions for clothes.

No set price. Tell me what you want, and we can negotiate what I want in return.

Yes, exactly! That's what I tell Spock, but no he has to be totally Vulcan and only eat vegetables or something. I don't know how he manages.

I've heard all the arguments, still think most of 'em are pretty dumb. Only ones that really make sense? Health reasons. And even then? Just for you, not something you should pass off on everyone.

Definitely. He's not a pusher, but I don't like wasting any of the produce so I end up planning half the meals when I cook around what he's getting. Which is rabbit food. It's unfair he's stronger than me and that's all he eats.

I hate cooking. Back home, we had a whole staff to take care of that. And everything else.

I wish I could tell you. I wonder why they didn't bring the rest of my crew, or why they drag us back after sending us away. It's kind of like asking why a cat likes you one minute and scratches you the next.

Usually it's because you did something to annoy the cat. Like touching it where it didn't want to be touched or holding it too long.

You know, I should have guessed that when you said you'd make Christmas outfits. That's pretty neat. I've never met a fashion designer before - not to many of them hanging out in Star Fleet.

But I hear you about the animal hair. I used to live with a wolf here and I had to constantly clean up the hair.

Where I'm from? "Hitachiin" is a household name among the fashionable. My mom goes to Milan and Paris for Fashion Week every year.

We get to go with her this year. Actually get to display some of our own work as part of her line.

I bet that's fun, getting to work with your mom. And it also means that Christmas elf costume I asked for has to be the best I've ever seen. If you can work tights into it, you get bonus points.

I'll make a killer elf costume, don't worry. I'll need measurements, though. Height, chest, arms, legs, inseam, all that.
