[Today, the camera isn't turned on. Hikaru isn't about to really let himself be seen with bruises and a split lip. Nothing irreparable, but he doesn't feel like letting anyone see, and he's not putting on make-up just for talking to the journal.]

So. Gotta ask --

Does this place have any video games? Like... something on a handheld system? I don't even care if it should be in a museum, I need something. Been way too long since I played anything.

[It was, strangely, something he found himself missing a lot as the days went by. He'd grown up in a world of fashion... and video games.

His father had even hinted at leaving his company primarily to Hikaru while their mother left hers primarily to Kaoru. Of course, they'd both work both jobs... Hikaru wasn't quite willing to really accept the idea of being apart from Kaoru, even professionally.]

I mean. Maybe to design it, maybe. But you have to design the clothes, make a mock-up, alter it according to the three dimensional shape, then sew the actual item. Then you have to advertise it and make adjustments for anyone who orders it, since there's only custom work here, no mass production.

Huh... I guess I never thought about it. I mean, I've never had the money to purchase high-end, so it's what I can look the best from the chain retailers.

Even chain retailers are like that. They get their designs and mass produce the clothing, but it all is done usually, like, six months in advance, at least.

Like, the fall and winter collections are displayed in Paris in late February.

Is that what that is about? I've had a few girlfriends who've talked about that, but I never paid much attention.

Fashion Week in Paris is amazing.

And we're going to be stuck here. Instead of being there like we're supposed to be!

[He actually sounds upset about this. More than that. Legitimately distraught, almost.]

So... why not put on a fashion show here?

...Because it's pretty much just us? I mean. Yeah. We've got awesome style, but...

But Fashion Week is every big name. Every major designer, showing their newest stuff. A ton of professional models, crews working around the clock to assist the designers.

It's not just a "fashion show." It's a world.

Well, why not bring a little bit of that here? Who knows, you might get some others involved to bring out a few of their own designs, and then you have a mini-version of Paris, right? It could be fun.

...We might be able to do something for September. Do a spring-summer collection.

There, you see? I'm sure it would cheer everyone up around here too. I bet you could round some people up to help build a stage and stuff too.

The challenge's going to be getting models.

Put out a call over the journals. I'm pretty sure you won't be lacking for volunteers.

...Yeah, but how many of them are actually cut out for it?

Who can stand for hours, being poked with needles and their posture adjusted, and not break down crying?

I never slum it. If they're not acceptable, I'm not using them.

So hold a training class or something? Or model them yourselves.

Probably will have to do a little of both. We can definitely model a lot ourselves. It just means only one pair of hands working on alterations.

I'm sure you two can make it work. I mean, you're fashion geniuses or something, right?

I mean, the only stuff we really absolutely can't model ourselves are kids' clothes.

Lucky for you we actually have kids here. I know this girl - Rue. She might have fun with it, you should try her.

We'll have to do a lot of work to make any of them ready to actually model... Guess that'll be our spring project.
