Fourth Pattern ; voice, drawing

This place is so stupid.

[As he talks to the journal, he's sketching.



This place is great for his creativity, he's realized... but that's because there's nothing else to do. He hasn't left his apartment in a few days except to steal food from the communal kitchen.

Being forcably dragged back into the mindset of having Kaoru and only Kaoru to rely on... didn't go away easily. He'd missed his brother before, but it's only gotten worse since then.]

The people in charge are idiots. Why would you only kidnap one? It still doesn't make any sense.

[He might not realize that he can be heard right now. He hasn't been exactly careful about where his hand's brushed in the journal.]

We're not supposed to be apart.

What kind of clothes do you like? [Because there's no point in even trying to design something she won't like from the get-go.]

Sounds comfy. [And it sounds like this girl might actually appreciate clothes made for her. Unlike a certain bratty (but loved) little sister.]

You're so good at drawing!! I think it looks super, super, SUPER pretty! It's a princess dress!!

My mom makes clothes, so I learned. First step is designing it -- drawing it out.

So you make clothes, too??? I don't really know how to sew all that good. Mommy tried to teach me to help fix our clothes once but I kept stabbing myself.

[ her voice is filled with awe. HOW COOL a skill is making clothes? ]

Yeah, Kaoru and me used to stab ourselves, too. That's how you learn, though. You do it enough, you stop doing it.

...I guess that's like anything else, then. Maybe I can try again sometime, but it's been a while since mommy showed me.

I could maybe help. At least get you started.

I might suck as a teacher, though. Just warning you.

I'm not really patient. Kind of have to be to teach someone stuff like that, but. I can try.

That's okay!! Being patient can be kinda hard. When I first started doing meditation, it was really boring. You haveta practice.

Maybe we'll work on stuff together, then. You can work on sewing, I can work on teaching someone.
